London based artist, Boo Saville has combined her catalogue of experience across drawings, prints, photography and paintings to produce this visual feast. Contact, Merge, Void 02 by Boo Saville is one a series of archival multi-layered pigment prints from a limited edition of 40. It is a calming representation of merged colour, grading through the various and complimentary colour spectrum that Saville explores in Contact, Merge, Void 02. Easy to get lost in.
Saville took learnings and inspiration from her colourfield 2018 paintings that were on show at her True Colours exhibition, London. With this multi-layered pigment print, Saville uses the same process to design the compositions as she does with her paintings. Creating layers of colour in Photoshop before overlapping them to build abstract colour blends. The statement title of this series is nods to the tools used to create them and the wider space, universe, galaxy. Contact, Merge, Void 02 works with a stable of darker colours that blend and merge to partner well with the lighter Contact, Merge, Void 01.

About the artist
Boo Saville produces work that is paradoxical: soothingly powerful. Renowned for her vivid abstract works that explore the relationship between colour and emotion, her work is so seamlessly blended that the paint still seems to be wet, shifting, melting into the canvas. Courageous simplicity requires meticulous skill, and Boo Saville’s precise layering of paint and understanding of texture results in immaculate dreamlike compositions.
Vastly different to her abstract fields, her drawings demonstrate her fasciation with surface and texture. Applying her layering technique with biro to produce work that is stunningly rich and complex, simultaneously achieving lightness and intensity.
Featuring across the world, from Soho House to the Museum of New and Old Art in Tazmania, her diverse and vital body of work breathes life. Never shy to address difficult and complex ideas, her most recent show ‘Birth’ explores the under represented theme of the same name. Giving a voice and representation to what is still considered taboo topics in the art world, she delicately subverts traditionalism. Important and beautiful, her work has been sought after for years. Recently commissioned by Damien Hirst for his private museum, she’s one to bet on.
