Investing in the Future
Each year, Enter Gallery hosts a Sample Sale, offering near-perfect art at a fraction of the cost. The purpose of the sale is to raise vital funds for causes that are dear to our hearts.
To demonstrate our commitment to investing in the future, this year proceeds from the sale will be divided between two causes, the first of which is Middle Street Primary School.
Over the years, funds raised at the Sample Sale have helped Middle Street to renovate their outdoor areas and the school’s Art’s Centre, and have gone towards hiring a special needs teacher.
Connecting the Roots
We’re well aware that our gallery is a business built on paper and deliveries, so in a bid to reduce the impact we have on the planet, we have pledged £100,000 over the next decade to the second cause that the sale will be raising funds for - Connecting the Roots, a Brighton-based environmental charity.
Our pledge is going directly to a rewilding project currently underway in Costa Rica, which aims to restore the biodiversity of a key area of rainforest, badly-damaged in the name of cattle farming.
Rewilding has been identified as one of the most effective strategies in the fight to reverse climate change.
A 2020 study found that by returning 30% of the world’s most important ecosystems to their natural state, we can prevent more than 70% of predicted extinctions and soak up 465 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide. This is the equivalent of reducing carbon in the atmosphere caused by human behaviour by 49%.
So far, we have sent £30,000 to the project, which has gone towards establishing a water system, building a nursery and planting over 500 trees.
This Sample Sale is the first in a line of fundraising events we have planned this year to raise funds for this valuable cause. Watch this space for more exciting announcements!
What kind of art will feature in the sale?
At the sale, you can expect to find discounted artworks from a huge selection of leading contemporary artists.
When you arrive at the sale, you’ll find framed and unframed pieces divided up into different price points, with the cost displayed on the reverse.
A friendly team of Enter Gallery Art Consultants will also be on hand to tell you more about the artworks, to answer any questions and to help you with your purchase.
