Mr Preston Biography

Mr Preston is an illustrator and one of the UK’s most prominent tattoo artists. Lauded as one of the originators of the naïve tattoo style, he specialises in contemporary illustrative tattoos at Heartless Hands Club, his studio in the Ancoats area of Manchester.

Mr Preston’s art, which spans illustration, fashion design and digital and screen printing, combines macabre imagery and black humour with themes of classical philosophy, existentialism and suburban ennui.

Inspired by music, Mr Preston explains that his uncompromising style, “searches for connections and meaning in a digital age, overcoming the melancholy of suburbia and modernity. It evokes the gnawing anxiety at 4am as the yellow light seeps through your window.”
