Deeply rooted in her Nigerian heritage, her work explores the complexities of black men and women, and addresses social issues that affect people of colour.
Chinakwe’s 20 year career in the fashion industry is apparent in her artworks. In each piece, she applies her styling skills to the canvas, combining jewellery, headwear and hairstyles that express her subjects’ individuality and pride in their culture.
