New Work by Tom Lewis

We have several great new prints in the Brighton gallery from the London based artist Tom Lewis.

Using a variety of media he builds up these elaborate, fantastical images that create an imaginary world with imaginary characters based on some of the “really wierd” people he has met through his life and work. He starts with a process of doodling with pencil then adds paint, aerosol, varnish, sometimes using digital media, acrylic paint and airbrushes. He states that his work is an attempt to achieve a send of order from chaos and to create meaning from nothing a phrase has coined as “beautiful nonsensical meaning”.

The prints are an edition of 50 and are packed with detail within each of these dreamy landscapes that have quite a strong Japanese influence. We have two of Tom Lewis’ prints framed in the gallery and several others available to purchase now.
