This June, the Godfather of Pop Art himself, Sir Peter Blake, turns an incredible 92 years old! Having worked with Blake since 2007 as the UKs biggest reseller of his work, we couldn’t let this momentous occasion pass without honouring Blake and his outstanding contribution to the art world.
On Friday June 21st, we’re launching Enter Gallery Presents: Peter Blake – A Print Retrospective. This show will feature art from across Blake’s career, capturing all of the artistic styles for which he is renowned from typography art to album cover prints. Every exquisite piece has been specially chosen to demonstrate Blake’s international impact as the pioneer of Pop Art.
To launch the show in style, we’ve arranged something very special – Peter Blake’s Art Bus will be making a return to Brighton, and we’re giving a few lucky Blake fans the chance to win a ticket to ride…
All Aboard!
The Art Bus is a double-decker mobile gallery designed by Peter Blake. The outside of the bus is decorated with the Pop Art emblems that define Blake’s career, and more seminal works are on display onboard.
This rock 'n' roll tour bus is a moving work of art designed to bring art to the masses via visits to schools, festivals, galleries and art events across the country.
This event will mark the third time that Enter Gallery has brought Peter Blake’s Art Bus to Brighton since we began working together back in 2007.
Enter Gallery arranged for the bus to make its Brighton debut in 2013 as part of the gallery’s support of Brighton Fringe. At the celebrations, we invited art lovers to hop aboard and take a tour of the artworks inside. The bus was such a hit (and we had such a good time) that we decided to do it all again in 2014.
It’s been a while since the bus has made an appearance. We can’t wait to share its return to Brighton with you.
Ticket to Ride
On Friday 21st June, we’re giving a few lucky Peter Blake fans the chance to ride on the Art Bus. Each winner will receive a ticket to ride that grants them and one friend a chance to tour around Brighton on the bus, before being dropped back at Enter Gallery in time to enjoy our retrospective over a few glasses of bubbly.
