Come 19th of November, the Enter Gallery team will be heading north to one of our favourite events of the year – Manchester Art Fair. The three day event, held at Manchester Central Convention Complex, is one the UKs most ambitious art fairs, attracting art lovers in search of everything from paintings and sculpture, to photography and limited edition prints.
Enter Gallery will be exhibiting our collection of art from emerging and leading contemporary artists alongside a whole host of UK and international galleries. In today’s blog we’re revealing a little more about what to expect from the fair and providing exciting details of an exclusive new print from one of our most coveted artists…
All the fun of the fair
Launched back in 2008 as Buy Art Fair, the first 10 years of the event have seen much excitement, including record sales of work by the likes of Grayson Perry and Tracey Emin, live painting by Pure Evil, and a charity auction of Damien Hirst’s doodles. Whatever the Fair has planned for 2021, we know that they will be continuing their run as one of the most interesting art fairs on the block.
Exclusive new series from Jayson Lilley
We’re excited to announce that at the Fair we will be launching an exclusive new series from British contemporary artist, Jayson Lilley. Inspired by architecture and iconic cities, Lilley recreates famous vistas, playing with perspective and colour in the process.
Lilley’s innovative printmaking practice combines silkscreen, painting and collage techniques. Each piece serves as a wonderful reminder of the beauty to be found in the urban environment if we would just cease our daily stomping for a moment to admire it.
For this exclusive small series, Lilley has revealed he will be creating a series of prints of different cities, including Manchester produced on one pound notes. This is an extension of artworks that he has produced before, in which he portrays cities such as London and Brighton.
