In a new body of still life works, Rivans celebrates the exuberance of earth, of goodness, and of all things living. An urn by the Venetian artist Giovanni Piranesi takes centre stage, overflowing with flora and fauna that seem to burst with vibrant life. Amongst the heady bouquet, Rivans embeds emblems of the earth's great magic and mystery: a pomegranate, to symbolise fertility, beauty and eternal life; a budgie, with its mystical ability for mimicry; a vintage wristwatch, to remind us that time is only a construct; a bumblebee, keeping the great cycle of life turning; and a ballerina, whose poise and grace symbolise harmony and rhythmic life. Made during the lockdown of 2021, With Love and Kindness, Forever offers a joyful window onto the world, a much-needed tonic in a time of confined existence.

Box framing is provided with all our online framing, creating a distance between the glass and your artwork, so no risk of ink transfer to the pane. it's the perfect, gallery grade choice for limited edition prints or original artworks.
Shadow float mounting is an option at our website, to give the appearance of an artwork floating within the frame. The mount – an archival foam core – creates depth too, by casting a shadow beneath the artwork. We highly recommend using a float mount when framing artwork with deckled (hand-torn) edges.
As always, all our materials are sustainable and archival to keep your artwork in mint condition and perfectly presented. Simply choose from our white or black float framing options, before adding to basket.
Glazing all our framing orders are shipped with glass. We take great care with packaging to protect your artwork.
Alternatively, for added piece of mind, we've the option of gallery grade cast acrylic, offering superb clarity and protection.

About the artist
Taking a unique approach to collaging, Maria Rivans is known for her layered imagery of vintage Hollywood. From starlets to Sci-Fi, B-movies to TV trash, Rivans’ passion for bygone cinema is palpable, infusing every piece with a life of its own.
Merging Pop Art with Surrealism, her work overflows with elements – a rich fusion of the organic and artificial, the urban and the natural, the human and the animal. Finely tuned to colour and compositional harmony, Rivans uses her distinctive approach to vintage adding a touch of humour, optimism, and inspiration.
In 2017 and 2018, her work featured in The Times newspaper and, in 2018, her Film Still ‘Understanding Nothing’ was selected for the Royal Academy’s 250th Summer Exhibition.
