About the artist
Elizabeth Waggett is a British contemporary artist known for elegant portrayals of animals, skulls and personal trinkets. Her intricate work explores the beauty of nature, the fragility of life, and the profound relationship between value and purpose in consumer-driven society.
Employing incredible skill and fine art techniques, Waggett depicts her photorealistic subjects in stripped-back monochrome, embellished with shimmering precious metals. Her work represents the inner struggle to balance materialism and meaning, with each piece a social commentary designed to challenge the viewer to confront the impact of mining the world for precious natural resources.
Waggett’s artworks have been exhibited around the world via solo shows in NYC, L.A, Abu Dhabi, and Manchester, and at art fairs in Basel, Miami, New York, London, Hong Kong, Zurich, Brussels, Houston, and Paris. Waggett was commissioned by HRH The Prince of Wales in collaboration with the Prince’s Trust 50th Anniversary and has worked for luxury brands including Saks, Soho House, and SLS Hotels.
