Crisis? What Crisis?, 2020

Chris Orr, a London-born artist, studied at the Royal College of Art and became a Royal Academician in 1995. His works are in major collections like the British Museum, Tate Britain, and the National Portrait Gallery, with numerous solo exhibitions worldwide.

Crisis? What Crisis is a signed, limited edition lithographic print by Chris Orr. Inspired by a satirical headline from 1979 and Harold Lloyd’s silent comedy Safety Last, this print depicts a chaotic scene of near disasters, where bystanders offer futile attempts to save the central figure hanging from a clock. Completed in early 2020, it captures a moment of societal tension, predating the global crises that followed.

Printed at Coriander Studios, published by CCA Galleries.
