One Thing After Another: Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night

Boo Saville is a London-based artist, whose soothing work explores the relationship between colour and emotion.

One Thing After Another features four artworks consisting of two editions, one collaged on top of the other and then framed. This reflects Saville’s recent explorations in the concept of ‘framing’ her work.

Speaking of this series, Saville explains: “I am interested in the threshold between the experienced and the represented world in our minds and how colour can be an access point for this. I have also been experimenting with frames in my work for a while now. Rather than a presentation tool, I view them as an integral part of the work. The frames in ‘One Thing After Another’ provide a border but also the blurring of roles; different fields of surface suggestive of something that happened or is about to happen. Like looking at something through a window.”

From a limited edition of 30, each of the four pieces is framed in a white wooden box frame, and signed on the reverse. The series is also accompanied by a signed and numbered certificate.

Framed size (cm): 34.8 x 28.3

Your Framing Options at entergallery.com

Box framing is provided with all our online framing, creating a distance between the glass and your artwork, so no risk of ink transfer to the pane. it's the perfect, gallery grade choice for limited edition prints or original artworks.

Shadow float mounting is an option at our website, to give the appearance of an artwork floating within the frame. The mount – an archival foam core – creates depth too, by casting a shadow beneath the artwork. We highly recommend using a float mount when framing artwork with deckled (hand-torn) edges.

As always, all our materials are sustainable and archival to keep your artwork in mint condition and perfectly presented. Simply choose from our white or black float framing options, before adding to basket.

Glazing all our framing orders are shipped with glass. We take great care with packaging to protect your artwork.

Alternatively, for added piece of mind, we've the option of gallery grade cast acrylic, offering superb clarity and protection.

About the artist
+

Boo Saville produces work that is paradoxical: soothingly powerful. Renowned for her vivid abstract works that explore the relationship between colour and emotion, her work is so seamlessly blended that the paint still seems to be wet, shifting, melting into the canvas. Courageous simplicity requires meticulous skill, and Boo Saville’s precise layering of paint and understanding of texture results in immaculate dreamlike compositions.

Vastly different to her abstract fields, her drawings demonstrate her fascination with surface and texture. Applying her layering technique with biro to produce work that is stunningly rich and complex, simultaneously achieving lightness and intensity.

Featuring across the world, from Soho House to the Museum of New and Old Art in Tasmania, her diverse and vital body of work breathes life. Never shy to address difficult and complex ideas, her most recent show ‘Birth’ explores the under represented theme of the same name. Giving a voice and representation to what is still considered taboo topics in the art world, she delicately subverts traditionalism. Important and beautiful, her work has been sought after for years. Recently commissioned by Damien Hirst for his private museum, she’s one to bet on.
