Light Blue Garden with Violet Stalks

Bruce McLean is one of the major abstract figures of contemporary British art. From artist to teacher, McLean makes his own rules - he has done ever since the 1960s, when he trailed the blaze of British conceptual art with his distinctive brand of abstraction. Regarded as one of the major players in contemporary British art. Rebellious and pioneering, McLean loosened traditional forms into abstraction and paved the way for pop art aesthetics.

Light Blue Garden Seat with Violet Stalks was released in 2019. It is a limited edition silkscreen print, edition size of 75. Light blue background with an essence of a latticed white garden seat, overlayed with bold and colourful flower stalks splashes of bright yellow and black bring the colours and the abstract to life and anchor it in statement. A strong and less abstract representation of one of McLean's paintings it connects with his long running garden theme.
