Sarah Morris is New York-based British-American artist and filmmaker known for abstract paintings and films which explore ‘urban, social and bureaucratic typologies.’
Geometric and Modernist in style, Morris is best-known for paintings based on different cities, inspired by the architecture, politics and psychology of each location and the people who live there.
Morris is also known for her films which describe locations via the viewpoint of specific individuals including Bill Clinton in her Capital series, and psychologist Dr. George Sieber describing the terrorist event at the Olympic Stadium in Munich in the film 1972.
