Sir Peter Blake, the pioneer of British pop art, unveils his breathtaking new ‘Art Bus’ and provides an EXCLUSIVE preview of his new book ‘One Man Show’ when our gallery brings him to Brighton on 9th May as part of the Festival Fringe.
The spectacular ‘Art Bus’ will be situated at New Road in the heart of Brighton (opposite the Theatre Royal) on Saturday 2nd May (as part of the Festival’s Fringe City launch weekend) and on Saturday 9th May, when Sir Peter Blake will be with the bus for an exclusive preview of his new book ‘One Man Show’.
The ‘Art Bus’ is a unique mobile art education facility fitted out with luxurious seating, plasma screens, balcony and includes many of Sir Peter Blake’s finest prints.
The ‘Art Bus’ was conceived by Peter Blake, CCA Galleries & Enter Gallery. The bus will tour the UK, visiting schools and colleges, providing the opportunity to attend free workshops, where students can learn printmaking and have a go themselves.
During Sir Peter Blake’s visit on the 9th May, there will be the very first opportunity to preview copies of his new book ‘One Man Show’. It will also be possible to order a copy prior to its release on 27th May.
If you can make it to Brighton on either Saturday 2nd or 9th May, we look forward to giving you a warm welcome from everyone on the ‘Art Bus’.
To view the stunning interior of the ‘Art Bus’ you’ll need a ‘Bus Pass’ from our gallery which will be valid for a specific time on 9th May. Passes will be collected and times allocated on the day at the gallery in Bond Street, Brighton.
Please note: All spaces to view the interior of the 'Art Bus' on the 9th May have now been allocated. Space is limited onboard and we have tried to accommodate as many people as possible. However the stunning exterior is still well worth coming to see. Those who have reserved space to view the interior, we cannot guarantee access to the 'Art Bus' until you receive your 'Bus Pass' on the day.
If you would like to find out more about bringing the ‘Art Bus’ to your school or college, please contact Claire Clinton, CCA Art Bus Coordinator on 01252 797200.
