29th Oct - Night of Becoming: Antonia Hazlewood at The Globe

This month, Enter Gallery invites you to Night of Becoming - an immersive evening of art, performance, and transformation with emerging artist Antonia Hazlewood.

Join us on Wednesday 29th October (6–9pm) at The Globe at Projects, Brighton, for a night that celebrates change, creativity, and connection. RSVP HERE

Night of Becoming takes inspiration from Samhain, the ancient Celtic festival marking the transition from harvest to the darker half of the year - a time when the veil between worlds is said to be at its thinnest. It’s a night of endings and beginnings, a celebration of flux and transformation - themes that lie at the heart of Antonia Hazlewood’s practice.

Hazlewood’s work explores the spaces between painting and drawing, natural and constructed, fixed and fluid. Each mark is in motion; each piece is in a state of becoming. Her intuitive process captures the invisible rhythms of energy and emotion, offering viewers an invitation to embrace uncertainty and transformation.

At Night of Becoming, Hazlewood will collaborate with performance partner Hayley to bring her process to life through a live continuous line performance. Together, they will personify Colour and Form - each responding to the other’s movement and mark-making in a poetic, spontaneous dialogue. As part of the performance, photographer Ana will document each moment, freezing time as Colour and Form evolve in tandem. The result is a visual and emotional record of progress - a living artwork about motion itself.

“Freedom of expression when you can’t find the words. Sometimes I don’t want to speak at all. Line, Form and Colour are my language.”

Visitors are invited to drop in anytime between 6-9pm on Wednesday 29th October to witness the performance, explore Hazlewood’s new collection of original artworks and limited edition prints, and experience an atmosphere rich in symbolism and sensory delight.

The evening will also feature a live harp performance, flowing through the spherical room like an echo of Hazlewood’s fluid forms, and a tarot reader offering insights tied to the night’s Samhain theme - transformation, release, and new beginnings.

About the Artist:

Antonia Hazlewood’s bold, vibrant, and experimental practice is multi-faceted - spanning painting, performance, and installation.
