Released at a much anticipated group show in East London last week, the brand new limited edition prints from D*Face are winging their way west to our gallery in Soho.
‘What Have I Become’ is the first of the two new prints shows Spiderman, a character that was featured heavily in his Apopcalypse Wow show last year. This print is a signed run of only 95, much lower than previous releases such as ‘Liberty’, and is made from an impressive 15 different colour screens as well as varnish and is printed on 350 gsm Moulin de gue paper.
The second print, ‘Feels So Good’, is truly an awesome example of printing. Not only is it a 9 colour screenprint but it also has a 1 colour etching, a much more complex printing process, all printed on 410 gsm textured paper feeling more like card than paper. ‘Feels So Good’ is a very limited run of only 48, all are signed.
D*Face is a London-based sculptor and stencil artist, who seems to use London as his own personal gallery. He has stuck, pasted and drawn on walls all over the capital, none of which he actually owns. This month the artist has a notable 15 page feature in Juxtapose magazine as well as headlining in the charity auction at Bonhams for the prostate cancer charity Artists 11 where his piece sold for above its estimate.
