Sneakerheads have descended on at Enter Gallery to meet ‘Pioneer of the Sneaker Art Movement’, Dave White.
Dave White was in town especially for his latest show at Enter Gallery. Sneakers – A 20 Year Celebration saw the artist revisit the artworks of trainers that made him an international name and that led to high-profile collaborations with the likes of Nike and Brand Jordan.
Today, we’re revealing what happened on the night, and sharing some snaps of the packed-out event…
Sneaker Art turns 20!
To celebrate the anniversary of his Sneaker Art series, White created two new limited edition prints, and presented three original oil paintings direct from his archive.
On the night, the gallery was packed with art fans and sneakerheads, many of whom had come laden down with trainers and t-shirts that White was happy to sign.
White began the evening with a quick presentation, recalling the history of the Sneaker Art movement and how his paintings of his favourite trainers connected with sneaker fans across the world. Attendees were then given the opportunity to ask White their questions.
As part of the show, White also offered 10 commission opportunities, allowing sneaker lovers to have an original artwork commissioned of their favourite trainer model.
