We’re delighted to announce that Enter Gallery is bringing you an exciting new collaboration with Brighton brewery, UnBarred.
The UnBarred x Enter Gallery collaboration will see a selection of UnBarred beers released with packaging designed by Enter Gallery artists. Our first release includes designs from Richard Berner, Kai and Sunny and RYCA.
We’re launching these beers at the opening night of our London Pop-up on Thursday 27th April (RSVP here). If you can’t make it, don’t worry, you’ll be able to sample the beers at Enter Gallery events throughout the year.
In today’s blog, we’re providing some behind-the-scenes snaps of Enter Gallery’s visit to UnBarred, and telling you a little more about what you can expect from these brews…
UnBarred x Enter Gallery
The first releases from the collaboration will feature three different designs. Pick up one of Richard Berner’s designs and you’ll be treated to Albion British Helles Lager and Kai and Sunny and RYCA’s designs will both house Joosy – UnBarred’s award-winning hazy pale ale.
Speaking of the collaboration, UnBarred tell us:
“We have worked with Enter Gallery for a while supplying beer to their events and the opportunity to work further with the gallery and the artists they represent via custom can designs felt like great creative synergy for us. All three designs are fantastic, and we can’t wait to see them out in the world. Our team are looking forward to continuing this collaborative project with Enter Gallery and their artists to create more designs, cans and events!”
Beer Champ
Richard Berner and his Champ tagged along to the tasting, and while their faces may suggest otherwise, they were both huge fans of their lager.
If you visit the UnBarred taproom, you’ll see a selection of the characters Richard Berner has drawn for his can design displayed around the garden.
Tasting Notes
While the packaging designs look undeniably fantastic, you’re no doubt wondering about how the beer will actually taste. Jordan Mower, Founder and Head Brewer at UnBarred reveals what we can expect:
“Our Albion Helles is a 4.4% light golden lager with great depth of flavour and impeccable balance. Citrus, floral hay flavours and meadowsweet aromas come from a gentle amount of English grown chinook and East Kent Goldings hops. The lager is crisp and clean, allowing a flurry of flavour from the English grown malts and hops to shine through.”
Many of the ingredients for the Helles lager are locally-sourced from independent businesses, which helps UnBarred to work towards their sustainability goals.
Speaking of Joosy, Mower reveals:
“Joosy is bursting with flavour. It leads with intense notes of citrus fruits, sweet tangerine, grapefruit and stone fruits from a combination of Simcoe and Amarillo hops. We add considerable amounts of oats in the malt bill then ferment with our house yeast strain to create a full bodied, smooth and crushable Pale.”
