Back in February, Enter Gallery held our annual Sample Sale to raise funds for Middle Street Primary School in Brighton.
We’re delighted to announce that the three day event was a huge success. £5,500 was raised, all of which will go to creating a new dedicated green space at the city centre school. Rob Cooper, Headteacher at Middle Street commented:
‘The Enter Gallery Sample Sale will help us to turn our outdoor areas into a special green oasis in one of the busiest built-up areas of the city. This will support the well-being of our children and create a space we can be proud of.’
Incredible discounts
For those not yet in the know, each year around February half-term, we hold a Sample Sale at Middle Street Primary School. The event offers parents and local Brighton folk the chance to snap up framed and unframed limited edition artworks with discounts of up to 75% off.
This year, people were queuing out the door – determined to get their hands on artworks from some of the most exciting artists working today. Everyone from Patrick Hughes and Pure Evil, to Lee Eelus and Magnus Gjoen, had pieces at the event.
Vital Funds
Enter Gallery has a long history of fundraising for Middle Street School. With the government making considerable cuts to school budgets, this type of fundraising can go a long way in helping schools to prioritise great staff, the needs of the pupils and the curriculum.
In previous years, funds raised at the Sample Sale have gone towards helping Middle Street to employ a special needs teacher, and to renovating the school’s Arts Centre.
If discounted art sounds right up your street, be sure to mark February in your diary, and we’ll see you at the Sample Sale in 2023.
