If you’ve ever wished for someone who truly understands your style, space, and story when it comes to buying art, then you'll want to meet Madi - our friendly, insightful, and knowledgeable Art Consultant.
Whether you're just beginning your art journey or looking to expand your collection, Madi is here to offer a bespoke art consultancy service in-person in Brighton and online. She makes the process enjoyable, stress-free, and tailored entirely to you.

Madi's journey into the art world has taken her from print shops in Ireland to boutique hotels in Budapest and Brighton. Now part of the Enter Gallery team, Madi draws on her diverse experience to help clients feel confident in their art choices - whether it's finding that perfect statement piece, building a gallery wall, or sourcing a gift that tells a story.
So without further ado, let's get to know Madi...
What led you to work in the art world?
I’ve always had an interest in all things creative, but the real push came while I was working at Artist Residence, a hotel filled with incredible artworks. Every day, I’d walk past Poolside Gossip by Slim Aarons and something about its effortless elegance and storytelling stuck with me.
Being surrounded by art in that space made me realise how much it can shape an atmosphere, spark conversations, and create desire. That experience set me on a path toward art consultancy - helping clients find pieces that inspire them and fit seamlessly into their lives.
My passion for art, design, and hospitality has been a constant throughout my life. It began at 13, when I worked at a print shop and became fascinated with the process of bringing designs to life.
After moving to Budapest, I discovered a love for hospitality, and when I settled in Brighton, I joined ThewitchEZ, where I created unique guest experiences. After a brief return to Ireland to work in print and design, I came back to Brighton and joined Enter Gallery.
What do you love most about helping people find the perfect artwork?
Art has the power to stir emotions, evoke memories, and create an atmosphere that speaks without words. Being part of that journey and guiding someone to a piece that feels deeply personal is what makes the process so magical.
Do you have a favourite art movement or style?
Conceptual art is my favourite because it invites deeper exploration of ideas and challenges our perceptions. Damien Hirst’s work is a perfect example. His piece The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living confronts life, death, and mortality in a starkly intellectual way. It’s not just about what you see, but what it makes you think and feel.
Who are your favourite three artists and why?
David Shrigley for his dark humour and social commentary; Marina Abramović for her boundary-pushing performance work; and Slim Aarons, whose glamorous photography offers a nostalgic escape into effortless luxury.
If you could own any artwork in the world, what would it be?
My Bed by Tracey Emin. It’s so raw and honest—it invites a deep, emotional response and opens up conversations about vulnerability, emotion, and the everyday human experience.
What’s a piece of art that has had a significant impact on you?
The Artist Is Present by Marina Abramović. I saw it at a formative age, and it completely changed how I perceive art and human connection. The silent exchange, especially when her former partner Ulay sat opposite her, was incredibly moving.
What’s your approach to helping customers choose the right artwork?
I focus on understanding their style, space, and the vibe they want to create. I ask questions, guide them through the selection process, and help them explore new ideas while making sure everything feels true to them.
What common concerns do customers have, and how do you address them?
Customers often worry about whether an artwork will suit their space or match their décor. I ask about their environment, offer advice on scale, colour, and framing, and provide reassurance through options and visualisation.

What advice would you give to someone buying their first piece of art?
Focus on what resonates with you personally. Whether it's the style, subject, or colour, it should speak to you. Don’t worry about trends - buy what you love.
What’s one of the most rewarding experiences you’ve had helping a customer?
A woman once returned to the gallery with her mother to revisit a piece by Mateo Humano. Her mother gifted it to her as a thank you for supporting her after her husband’s passing. It was an emotional and beautiful moment, and I felt honoured to be part of it.
What excites you most about working at Enter Gallery?
Hearing different perspectives on the pieces we show. Every conversation adds a new layer of meaning and deepens my appreciation for the work. It keeps things fresh and challenges how I see art.
How does Enter Gallery’s curation set it apart?
Enter Gallery offers a diverse collection of contemporary art from both emerging and established artists. Our focus is on thought-provoking, accessible art - curated with a personal, human approach that makes collecting enjoyable and meaningful.
How do you see Enter Gallery evolving?
We’re putting greater focus on bespoke art consultancy services and offering home visits in Brighton and online consultations. Collaborations with Worton Hall Studios and projects like the Peter Blake Bus will continue to bring exciting new opportunities.
If you could have dinner with any artist, who would it be?
Banksy! I’d love to hear about his creative process, anonymity, and the way he blends street art with activism and culture.
What’s your favourite thing about Brighton?
The people! Brighton is bursting with creativity, kindness, and individuality. It’s a place where everyone can truly be themselves.

What has been your favourite moment with the CCA Galleries team?
Visiting Worton Hall Studios. The history, the energy, the creativity - it felt like a sanctuary for ideas. Knowing how many great artists have worked there was deeply inspiring.
If you weren’t working in art, what would you be doing?
Probably back in the print world creating custom designs for clothes, signage, and vehicles. I love seeing creativity come to life in unexpected places.
