Love was in the air at Enter Gallery last night as leading contemporary artist, RYCA, launched his latest solo show, Love Letters.

RYCA’s swoon-worthy exhibition pays tribute to the greatest feeling of all – true love. The show captures romantic references from popular culture, film and music that sum up how we feel about those who hold a place in our hearts.
In today’s blog, we’re sharing some photos from a beautiful night full of great people and heart-warming art…
Love is All Around
Love Letters brings together over 40 new limited edition and original artworks all musing on the power of love. While some of RYCA’s artworks retain the mystery of a secret admirer, others immediately summon the love songs and classic movies from which they are borrowed.
Amongst the exhibition, you’ll find nods to some of the greatest musicians of all time, including Kate Bush, David Bowie, Whitney Houston and Elvis.
You’ll also spot iconic lines taken from cinema, be that heartfelt declarations of love seen in Jerry Maguire and Brokeback Mountain or slightly less predictable lines found in Star Wars and Frozen.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a RYCA show without a few sweary words and emojis to top off the collection.
Smitten Kitten
As a special treat on the night, we enjoyed a performance from Aaron Shrimpton – a poet whose aptly-named poem ‘Love’ was used by RYCA to promote the show.
Shrimpton wowed attendees with heart-felt words that perfectly summed up how it feels to fall head over heels.
You can see Love Letters at Enter Gallery in Brighton until Wednesday 30th October, or if you can’t make it in person, why not check out our virtual tour of the exhibition here.
