If you’re looking for art events in Brighton this weekend, join us at The Globe within Projects Brighton for a relaxed Sunday session with mixed media artist Emma de Polnay
Matter & Meaning - Register here
Emma’s work draws on her background in sculpture, set design, and life drawing. Her richly textured paintings and works on paper are alive with movement and symbolism, often inspired by Greek myths, dance, and themes of flight. Living on the coast, Emma has developed a ritual of collecting fragments from the beach - both natural and man-made, which she weaves into her art. Her practice is part treasure hunt, part beach clean, and always transformative.
At Matter & Meaning you’ll be able to step into Emma’s creative world - watching her create live art in a relaxed, studio-style setting while projections reveal her process of collecting found objects along the beach. Alongside this, a selection of her original artworks will be on display, offering the chance to experience her pieces up close.
The atmosphere will be calm and seaside-inspired, with tea, cake, and conversation to enjoy throughout the day. Guests are even encouraged to bring along their own found beach treasures for Emma to explore, which she may incorporate into her work.
This is a drop-in, daytime event designed to feel welcoming and informal - the perfect way to spend a Sunday in Brighton.
