Andrew Millar is a widely-collected British contemporary artist known for elegant and surreal portraits of women. He describes his work as, ‘like a tapestry, treading a haunting line between reality and fantasy.’
Millar’s pioneering artistic technique incorporates a distinctive combination of Polaroid instant film, collage and precious metal leaf. Working instinctively, each artwork is developed, treated and hand-gilded, before being finished with spray paint, acrylic and ink to make it truly unique.
Millar has enjoyed solo exhibitions in Amsterdam, Berlin, New York, London, Barcelona and Paris. His work is also found in the permanent collection of Saatchi Gallery, and in private homes across Europe, North America and Asia.
