British painter, David Spiller is known for his graphic depictions of beloved cartoon characters. In his work, he employs a fun blend of Pop Art sensibilities, Art Brut techniques, doodles and scribbled phrases to convey hopeful messages, more often than not musing on the wonder of love.
Of his work, Spiller said: ‘I really want to make paintings that put some magic on the wall. Some of them are straightforward things. Some are wild things. But underneath, it says I love you.’ David Spiller (1942 – 2018).
