Geckor Biography

‘Geckor' is the creative outlet for self taught Scottish pop artist, Leighton Mcintosh. As a kid, Leighton had a strong fascination for drawing and re imagining cartoons. Fast forward the years and that passion has spiralled into the forms of acrylic painting and graphic design. 

Geckor's work explores the use of shape, geometric abstraction and transparency which can result in sophisticated, fun and bold creations of nostalgic pop icons. The 'spiralled eyes' were originally used to portray bemusement in characters which heightened his warped designs and have now evolved into the signature detail of his work.

His artwork and creativity has previously allowed him to collaborate with well established clothing brands within Scotland, resulting in the release of limited edition merchandise and a solo exhibitions. His unique concepts take the form of both fine art originals and limited edition prints.
