Laurence Owen Biography

Laurence Owen is a British painter and ceramicist known for artworks that are reminiscent of artefact and relic. Owen’s vibrant works are characterised by swirls and brightly-coloured symbols inspired by literature, music and popular culture.

Across his oeuvre Owen explores how belief systems and rituals found in Paganism, Folklore and Mythology are connected to contemporary consumerist culture, and how meaning can be embedded into materialism.
