Madsaki Biography

Madsaki is a Japanese-American artist who uses his experiences of both eastern and western culture to inform the aesthetic of his art.

His oeuvre is inspired by popular advertisements, films, and most notably, the paintings of old masters. Using acrylic and spray paint, his graffiti-inspired style featuring dripping smiley faces, results in modern, simplified versions of his chosen inspiration.

Madsaki’s instantly-accessible work, which regularly fetches over six figures, is a critique of  conceptions of value in the art world.
