Feet What do I Need You for When I Have Wings to Fly
Mark Powell created Feet What do I Need You for When I Have Wings to Fly especially for Enter Gallery’s 2022 Virtual Art Yard Sale.
Contemporary artist, Mark Powell creates intricate hand-drawn portraits on found antique documentation using just a standard Bic Biro.
This piece is named after a quote from Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo – a woman who spent much of her life in pain due to childhood polio and a bus accident that left her needing more than 30 operations on her spine. Despite this, Kahlo found wings in other ways – through art and love.
This giclée print is signed and numbered by the artist.

Your Framing Options at entergallery.com
Box framing is provided with all our online framing, creating a distance between the glass and your artwork, so no risk of ink transfer to the pane. it's the perfect, gallery grade choice for limited edition prints or original artworks.
Shadow float mounting is an option at our website, to give the appearance of an artwork floating within the frame. The mount – an archival foam core – creates depth too, by casting a shadow beneath the artwork. We highly recommend using a float mount when framing artwork with deckled (hand-torn) edges.
As always, all our materials are sustainable and archival to keep your artwork in mint condition and perfectly presented. Simply choose from our white or black float framing options, before adding to basket.
Glazing all our framing orders are shipped with glass. We take great care with packaging to protect your artwork.

About the artist
Mark Powell is a London and Brighton-based artist, known for creating impossibly intricate portraits using just a humble Bic Biro. Powell’s anthropological illustrations are motivated by the individuals who inspire him, and the people he has met while on the road.
For his canvas, the artist uses found antique documents, including maps and letters dating as far back as the 18th century. Powell incorporates his subjects into the existing details of the documents, using creases, marks and typography to add depth and texture, creating pieces infused with a real sense of story.
Powell reveals: ‘Each face I choose to draw has to have character and a suggestion of a history to tell. That way the viewer can create any narrative of a life that may have been lived.'
