Framed The Blueprint Drawings, 1990
This piece is from Keith Haring’s series – The Blueprint Drawings, which he created between the summer of 1980 and January 1981. They are widely considered some of the most iconic and relevant pieces of his career.
The series was originally conceived as unique works on paper that were displayed in a one-week exhibition in Manhattan – his first solo show in New York City. Haring then revisited the series one month prior to his death in 1990, transforming them into a set of 17 screenprints.
Like most of his work, each piece in the series was left untitled, to avoid biasing the observers interpretation of it. The series represents an early visual history of an artist who successfully brought sex, racism, religion and AIDS awareness to the attention of society.
This silkscreen print is from a limited edition of 33, signed and numbered by the artist.
This piece has been framed in a perspex box frame.
Size (cm): 108 x 122.5
