Life Will Find A Way

Mixed-media artist, Mark Davies is known for creating striking compositions which apply his own narrative to that of beloved movies, fairy tales and fiction. Inspired by the likes of Hans Christian Andersen and The Brothers Grimm, Davies likes to err on the side of the sinister, composing his pieces to further explore the darker themes underlying the stories we cherish.

In Life Will Find A Way, Davies drives us into the heart of Jurassic Park, and abandons us there to fend for ourselves. While the beauty of the forest is undeniable, the signs of chaos and destruction perfectly illustrate the danger of messing with Mother Nature. The piece leaves the observer under no illusion - it is greed that breeds monsters.

This print is from a limited edition of 45, signed by the artist.

    About the artist
    +

Mark Davies is a mixed-media artist, best-known for his signature ‘Storyteller’ pieces, in which he captures the essence of popular films and fairy tales in his distinctive, hypnotic style.

Inspired by the compositional qualities of Piero Della Francesca and Giuseppe Arcimboldo, and the surrealism of Salvador Dali, Davies’ art is infused with magic. As with all good storytellers, he is unafraid to confront the darker themes underlying the stories he has selected to immortalise.

The devil is in the detail in this artist’s work. From a distance his vistas appear warm and inviting, but step closer and you’ll see nods to the underworld of each story, and clues to the themes of life that consume us all.
