Lion Cub, Diamond Dust

Who could resist those big, baby lion eyes, gazing with such intensity?

Award-winning artist Dave White brings the animal kingdom to life in his fine art originals and limited edition prints. Known for mixing figurative realism with abstract expressionism, White has refreshed the traditional genre of animal portraiture with contemporary flare. Woking with oil and watercolour on canvas, White plays with the dynamic qualities of paint: thick strokes and sweeps of the brush, combine with flecks, drips, and splatters to create an astonishing sense of vitality.

Lion Cub achieves this to breathtaking effect. Unfinished lines of black ink and raw squiggles of paint miraculously capture the cub with uncanny presence. Lion Cub is a giclee print of one of White’s oil and watercolour originals.

From a limited edition of just 50, each one hand signed and numbered by the artist, White’s print is a must-have for the collector of contemporary art - or the lover of baby lions!

Shadow float mounting is an option at our website, to give the appearance of an artwork floating within the frame. About the artist
    +

Taking a fresh and dynamic approach to fine art, Dave White has created a signature style that has made him one of the most recognised artists in contemporary British art. His work has assumed a desirable collector status and his popularity, both in the UK and abroad, continues to grow.

Best known for his vivid portraits of animal species, White uses gestural strokes, specks, and splatters of oil and watercolour on canvas to build both texture and movement. The result straddles the figurative and abstract, capturing the emotional intensity of each subject with palpable, life-like presence.
