Newspaper Shelf V1, Aluminium
Dan Faine is a full time artist, printmaker, and co-founder of Dark Matter Studio, a boutique print making studio who produce works for the likes of Peter Blake and Yinka Ilori.
In his art, Faine enjoys taking things out of context, and isolating objects from their usual surroundings.
The colours in this series are inspired by famous paintings, lending the works an air of familiarity despite their surreal nature. Here, the drawing is based on Walter Gropius’s Newspaper Shelf, and the colours are sampled from Bridget Riley’s Fête (1989).
This archival pigment print on aluminium cut out is from a limited edition of 25, signed and numbered by the artist. This piece is available in two sizes, Small and Large.
Small size (cm): 52 x 70
Large size (cm): 75 x 102

Your Framing Options at entergallery.com
Box framing is provided with all our online framing, creating a distance between the glass and your artwork, so no risk of ink transfer to the pane. it's the perfect, gallery grade choice for limited edition prints or original artworks.
Shadow float mounting is an option at our website, to give the appearance of an artwork floating within the frame. The mount – an archival foam core – creates depth too, by casting a shadow beneath the artwork. We highly recommend using a float mount when framing artwork with deckled (hand-torn) edges.
As always, all our materials are sustainable and archival to keep your artwork in mint condition and perfectly presented. Simply choose from our white or black float framing options, before adding to basket.
Glazing all our framing orders are shipped with glass. We take great care with packaging to protect your artwork.
Alternatively, for added piece of mind, we've the option of gallery grade cast acrylic, offering superb clarity and protection.

About the artist
Dan Faine is a full time artist, printmaker, and co-founder of Dark Matter Studio, a boutique print making studio based in West London who have created prints for the likes of Peter Blake and Yinka Ilori.
Prior to starting Dark Matter, Faine worked at the legendary Coriander Studio, where he learned the art of screen printing, working alongside a whole host of artists including Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Bruce McLean, and Gavin Turk.
Faine’s own work is characterised by playful exploration of taking things out of context, such as isolating pieces of furniture from their surroundings. By basing the colours and composition of his works on famous paintings, each piece is infused with a sense of familiarity at odds with its surreal nature.
