Patchwork Heart

Patchwork Heart is a piece from Brazilian artist, Waleska Nomura’s ongoing Spread the Love project, which she started back in 2004, and is still going strong.

As the name suggests, the idea behind the collection is to spread love and positive energy via a variety of different artistic mediums and techniques, which so far have included murals, installations, short films and public interventions.

In a world which could definitely use a little more love and compassion, Patchwork Heart is a lovely piece reminding us to be tender with our hearts and those of others.

This giclée print is from a limited edition of 30, signed by the artist. It is hand-finished with silkscreen glazes, gold and silver leafing and 3D fluffy clouds.

    About the artist

Waleska Nomura is a Brazilian artist now residing in the UK. Entirely self-taught, Nomura dipped her toe into the artistic world painting graffiti letters onto the streets of her hometown of Sao Paulo. Later, she began a journey of experimentation into different materials and mediums, including painting, collage, found objects, character work and modelling clay.

Whatever medium she’s working in, Nomura’s mission is clear - to spread messages of love. Her first London show, Moving On, came in 2009 and focused on themes of family and friendship. It was during this show that the artist showcased her A Heart in Love series, which won her critical acclaim and international interest in her work from collectors and galleries alike.
