True Love Stories

Street art stencils and classic tattoo imagery come together in contemporary artist Copyright’s limited edition print, True Love Stories.

Inspired by an assortment of different influences, it’s no wonder Copyright’s work looks like nothing you’ve ever seen before: Shakespeare, Hitchcock, Banksy—combine these great British cultural creators and what do you get? The contemporary street art of Copyright! Bright, bold, and unabashedly beautiful, True Love Stories depicts a woman in black and white stencil, her back to the viewer. She turns her head provocatively over her shoulder, while her backless dress tumbles into a kaleidoscope of colour, pattern, print, and type.

Hand finished with gold leaf, Copyright’s print really dazzles. From a limited edition of just 50, each one hand signed and numbered by the artist, True Love Stories is one to snap up fast from the next big thing in British street art.

    About the artist
    +

Contemporary artist Copyright fuses street art with fine art to create a stylised aesthetic that explores representations of beauty in the modern world.

Inspired by William Shakespeare, the Pre-Raphaelites, and Alfred Hitchcock, Copyright both follows and subverts these diverse influences to expose the contradictions of idealism and unattainable standards of beauty, fed by the fashion industry, film, music and contemporary popular culture.

Pink roses, butterflies, and beautiful women are the mainstays of Copyright’s work. These recurring tropes appear amongst tattoo motifs and graffiti tags to create a unique and distinctive style that has earned Copyright a loyal following of street art lovers, as well as celebrity art collectors including The Prodigy frontman, Liam Howlett.
