About the artist
Kai and Sunny joined forces after graduating from the Epsom School of Art over a decade ago, and the two have been working as a duo ever since. Both raised in areas of outstanding natural beauty - Kai in Somerset and Sunny in the Lake District – together they conquer different elements of the natural world through their collaborative approach to geometric abstraction.
Building texture through layers of intricate silkscreen printing, Kai and Sunny’s work is characterised by a nexus of complex lines, which run together to create a powerful sense of visual depth. Soft flowers, feathers, and foliage take on a kaleidoscopic character, strengthened with sharp angles and bursting with motion to juxtapose the serenity and chaos of the natural world.
This compelling aesthetic translates well into the world of professional design, and the pair have been involved in several high-profile collaborations. From the front covers of David Mitchell’s best-selling novels, to the branding at Alexander McQueen’s catwalk shows, their artwork has won numerous accolades, including a 2012 D&AD Design Award and a 2015 LIA award. They have been exhibited at prestigious institutions across the world, including: Haunch of Venison; Jonathan Levine Gallery in New York; and the Victoria & Albert Museum Print Archive Collection.
A custom frame is the perfect way to complement your beautiful limited edition artwork. Our custom framing is a bespoke handmade service.
